Golden Idol - An Idols of Torment Painting Competition

This is a call to the damned, the obsessed, and the unwell. Those who see beauty in ruin and grace in suffering.

Use at least one official model and drag something wretched into the light. There is $2,250 in cash to be claimed, if your work can endure among the Lost.

Rules and Entry Criteria

Your entry must include at least one official Idols of Torment miniature, available at MyMiniFactory.

Additional models, terrain, or basing materials are allowed.

Entries can be any size, from a single figure to large scenic displays with multiple models.

The model must be painted by the entrant.

By submitting, you grant permission for your work to be featured on Black Magic Craft and sponsor social media, websites, and promotional materials.

Prizes

Gold – $1,500 USD

Silver – $500 USD

Bronze – $250 USD

Submission Guidelines

Submit 3 to 5 high-quality photos of your finished piece.

Include at least one well-lit front view that clearly shows the model.

No heavy digital edits—basic corrections like brightness and colour balance are fine.

Judging Criteria

Entries will be judged by a panel including Black Magic Craft and guest judges from the miniature hobby community. Entries will be evaluated on the following:

Theme & Atmosphere – How well the piece captures the tone of Idols of Torment

Creativity – Originality, storytelling, and artistic choices

Presentation – Basing, composition, and photo clarity
